‘On a cold December day I went to a photographic hide near where I live, in Lomabrdy. There, during winter, it’s possible to see greenfinches, and sometimes they perform choreographic fights.

Photographing them while fighting in flight is a real challenge. Getting the right compromise of shutter speed, aperture and ISO, and capturing them both in the frame and in focus requires a lot of effort. As a result, I gain a great deal of satisfaction when the picture is successful.’
