‘This is a Rotifer of the species Keratella Quadrata, measuring about 0.25mm. Keratella Quadrata are globetrotters, being present in freshwater ponds and lakes throughout the world. Their locality is controlled by the environmental conditions rather than geographical location. At the top you can see the jaws it uses to eat. The red dot is the eye, or rather a light sensitive organ.’
