‘I found this opilion (harvestman) with only six legs, which helped when it came to creating a balanced composition. When faced with danger, these arachnids can shed their legs to distract predators. However, unlike other arachnids their legs don’t regenerate. In fact, it’s quite unusual to find an adult with all its legs intact. These animals do not have good eyesight, smell or hearing, so they use their legs as sensors – they can even use a pair of legs as antennas!’
