Sophia:
‘I found a small patch of Anemone blanda in a wood beside a road near my house. The flowers are very low growing so I had to use my camera on a beanbag and lie down to look through the viewfinder. I chose one flower that was growing slightly apart from the rest so I’d only have the one bloom in focus. I used a wide aperture to give me a shallow depth of field and shot through some other flowers in the foreground. All of these techniques ensure a very soft focus around the flower, making it appear dream like. I got some odd looks from local walkers who only saw me at the last minute as they passed by the wood.’
