‘Reeds, Lake District was taken in April 2019 at Beatrix Potter’s favourite lake, Esthwaite Water.  We had come to the end of our holiday in Keswick but decided to stop on the way home to see the ospreys at Esthwaite.  Our car was packed full with camera gear, laptops etc from our week-long holiday.  When we pulled into the car park we noticed signs everywhere saying “Beware!  Do not leave valuables in your car.” I graciously offered to stay with the car as I had some emails to read. 

After a while, I got out of the car for a brief walk around the car park and noticed the reeds only 10–15 metres from the car.  The emails were quickly forgotten!  Fortunately I had my wellingtons, so I spent the next couple of hours very happily wading in the lake photographing the reeds much to the amusement of others in the car park.  To finish off a perfect morning I also got to see the ospreys on the webcam in the lakeside café.’
