The appearance of frogspawn in the bog pools truly is a wonder, as Mother Nature lets us know that the bog is waking from her cold winter slumber and that spring has truly arrived. While photographing in Clara bog, in the Irish midlands, I noticed that one 'cell' of frogspawn stood out. A reed lay beneath the spawn, and its green colour highlighted one of the spawn eggs. As I peered through the macro lens, it appeared that I was being watched by the large eye of Mother Nature herself. ’
