‘European tree frog (Hyla arborea) photographed at a site in the Alsace region of France. I had visited this site unsuccessfully a couple of times, but finally on a visit one September I found my first ever European tree frog. Although this particular day was warm it was also windy, so the frog was tucked up on a leaf in the tall grasses, blending in very well – as these are only small frogs they can be easily missed.

The wind was blowing the grasses in the background, which created a bit of movement while the frog was in a more sheltered area. The whole area was in shade providing soft even lighting.’
